Vehicles with Colombian license plates can continue to circulate through Táchira without a tourist permit, due to the flexibility that allows being a neighboring country.
The Vehicle Civil Liability (RCV) insurance for Venezuelan vehicles is no longer valid for foreign vehicles that are going to tour the state of Táchira or Venezuela. Now they must apply for special insurance.
«The Colombian car or car from another country that wants to travel in Venezuela must have this special insurance. As for the Colombian vehicle that has already been processed with a cooperative and has the normal RCV, it will be valid until it expires,” said a source consulted by Diario La Nación.

An insurer consulted by Diario La Nación indicated that the insurance for foreign private cars is estimated at 142 dollars (approximately 530,000 pesos) valid for one year.
Citizens who live in San Antonio del Táchira or Ureña and have a vehicle with a Colombian license plate (car or motorcycle) are being allowed to acquire the RCV, as long as it does not leave the indicated axis. If you are going to pass from Peracal, you must have special insurance on hand.
