The Minister of Energy and Mines, Joel Santosreported on Tuesday night that the country has recovered around 62% of electricity generation, after the general blackout that affected the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI) from 1:20 in the afternoon.
Through a press releasethe official explained that until 11:30 pm about 25 generating plants had been incorporated into the system, providing 2,000 megawatts of energy.
- They just have to go into operation Catalina Point, Mines V and VIIand Cespem I and IIIwhich will allow progress towards the total normalization of the service, outlines a press release issued by the entity.
“The restoration has been carried out keeping the protocols and under a process through which there can be security in the full sense of the word,” said the minister, highlighting that the process is carried out in a safe and controlled manner to avoid new failures.
They enter the system gradually

The head of Energy and Mines specified that when a generating plant It leaves and re-enters the electrical system, its energy contribution is carried out gradually, not immediately at 100 per count.
Santos explained that the plants are incorporated gradually, and not at 100% of their immediate capacity, in order to guarantee the stability of the SENI and avoid fluctuations or overloads.
“The progressive synchronization allows each unit to inject energy in a controlled and safe manner, ensuring a orderly recovery of the electrical service,” he said.
“This technical procedure guarantees the stability of the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI), avoiding fluctuations or overloads that could affect the balance between generation and demand. Progressive synchronization allows each unit to inject energy in a controlled and safe manner, until reaching its full capacity, thus ensuring an orderly recovery of the electrical service,” he explained.
He Ministry of Energy and Mines reiterated its commitment to transparency and the security of the electrical system, and announced that it will continue to offer regular updates on the progress of the restoration.
