From the Sol del Perú Hall of the Miraflores Palace, the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, formally delivered to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, in his capacity as Commander in Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the draft Law of the Command for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation.
The project, sanctioned by the AN, deepens the civil-military doctrine in the country and guarantees the peace and sovereignty of the Homeland, regarding the armed and non-armed struggle to which Venezuela has been subjected by imperialist actors.
Rodríguez described the day as a day of transcendental importance for the development of the new military doctrine of the Republic, which follows the ideology and concepts of Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, with the aim of achieving a profound civil-military fusion. “Today has been a day of transcendental importance in the development of the new military doctrine of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, that military doctrine that was the dream of Commander Hugo Chávez.”
The president of Parliament highlighted that the new legal instrument is framed in a context of permanent aggression against the Venezuelan people by an imperial hegemon that refuses to understand that these are other times: “not only other times for the world, for the conception that exists of multipolarity, but also other times for the people of Venezuela, we decided a long time ago to be free, independent and defend the sovereignty of the territory.”
Furthermore, he explained that the initiative for this law came from the National Executive, led by the Head of State and the Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, to develop the concepts of the Management Bodies for Comprehensive Defense (ODDI). “Precisely that is the development of this Law that was sanctioned today, the Law of the Command for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation, based on article 326 of our Constitution.”
Finally, he explained that the regulatory body consists of 22 articles. The delivery was carried out with the presence of deputies from the Defense Commission, the Internal Policy Commission and the Board of Directors of the AN.
