The military agents detained a subject and seized devices that a sniper usually uses.
The report of the procedure was published on the Instagram account of the Zone 21 Command of the Bolivarian National Guard, where it is specified that the man’s arrest occurred at the Citizen Service Point located in Capacho, Libertad municipality (Abejales), Táchira.
A cell phone and several accessories used in long weapons to execute shots with precision were seized from the detainee, an expert explained. In that sense, they seized a long-range night scope, attachable for long firearms, two laser optical modules for night vision and attachable aiming for long firearms, a manual night viewfinder and recorder.
The aforementioned devices were carried hidden in a parcel-type cardboard box, says the military report.
In another procedure, the military detained another man from whom they confiscated 12 detonating capsules, which are the parts where the explosive intended to propel the projectile is deposited.
The capsules were transported in the clothing of the subject, who came from Colombia and was headed to the town of La Fría, García de Hevia municipality, Táchira state, says the military report.
In the Sucre municipality (Bobures), Zulia state, military officials apprehended a subject, who was carrying a Venezuelan-made sawed-off shotgun, Convavenca brand, model Gauge 2 3/4 IHCH, devastated serial, which was seized, the minutes say.
The subject was registered as Reyder Manuel Quintero Chacare, who was detained when he was wandering armed around the Camaronera Finca Arapuey, located in the Puerto La Dificultad sector, of the aforementioned Zulia municipality.
The arrest occurred as part of the deployment of Operation Fragmentary Order No. 15-25 (Catatumbo Lightning), Binational Peace Zone No. 1, where a Quick Reaction Unit (Urra) participated with members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, the report explains.
And in the Agua Salada sector, Angostura del Orinoco municipality (Ciudad Bolívar), agents from the GNB’s Zone 62 Command detained two subjects allegedly in possession of a facsimile of a firearm and inciting hatred.
A facsimile of a firearm, a sedan-type vehicle, a motorcycle-type vehicle and two cell phones were seized from the imprisoned men.
A similar procedure was carried out by officials of the Bolivarian National Police, assigned to the Strategic Intelligence Division of the Bolívar state. In that case, the operation was deployed in the Unare parish, adjacent to the Manuel Carlos Piar International Airport, Ciudad Guayana, Caroní municipality, where they captured a 22-year-old man from whom they confiscated five long facsimile-type firearms and a cell phone, the report says.
The subject was traveling on a motorcycle, which was also seized by police officers, the minutes state.
The procedures were notified to the Public Ministry so that it could begin criminal prosecution of the detainees.
The carrying of firearms has been suspended in Venezuela since August 28, 2019, according to joint resolution, Official Gazette 41,705.
