In October, Michoacán registered 501,469 formal jobs before the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), reported the state governor, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, who highlighted that during the current administration 36,727 places have been created, which represents a growth of 7.9 percent.
The president highlighted that his government has maintained sustained growth in employment and highlighted that the productive and business sectors are the ones that, for the most part, register workers in the formal sector.
For his part, the Secretary of Economic Development of the state, Claudio Méndez Fernández, pointed out that this progress consolidates the established goal of reaching half a million formal jobs in the entity.
According to the records of the IMSSIn October 2021, Michoacán had 466,916 formal workers, a figure that grew steadily to 477,361 in 2022, 488,069 in 2023, 491,783 in 2024, until reaching 501,469 in 2025.
The president of the Mexican Chamber of the Construction Industry (CMIC) in Michoacán, Alejandro Vargas, recognized the state investment in infrastructure, pointing out that more than 90% of the works are assigned to local companies, which generates a positive synergy for economic growth.
