Two men were murdered in isolated incidents in Manrique and San Javier. One of the alleged perpetrators was captured.
Two men were murdered with a knife in the El Raizal and El Socorro neighborhoods, in Medellín. Authorities are investigating whether the cases are related.
Two men were murdered with a sharp weapon in apparent isolated events in the communes of Manrique and San Javier in the city of Medellín.

Both crimes, with similar characteristics as they occur inside homes. The first case was recorded in the El Raizal neighborhood, Manrique Commune, where John Alejandro Osorio Maldonado, 44, was found dead.

The prompt action of the authorities allowed significant progress in the first case. After the discovery of Osorio Maldonado’s body, the SIJIN of the National Police, alerted by a call to line 123, carried out a technical inspection of the body.
Minutes later, and as a result of the first investigations, a 21-year-old man was captured as allegedly responsible for the homicide.
The violence was replicated in the west of the city, specifically in the El Socorro neighborhood, San Javier Commune. There, Leonardo Yulesmar Duque Gómez, 55, was found dead with multiple stab wounds, also inside a residence.
The Prosecutor’s Office and the Police are working together to determine the motives behind this double day of violence.
