During a meeting with the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), the vice president of Communication and Electoral Affairs, Jorge Rodríguez, stated this Monday that the red awning has consolidated “true cells of popular action” throughout the country.
The statement was given in the context of the analysis of the development of the Popular Assemblies held over the weekend for the election of the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committees (CBBI), territorial structures that seek to strengthen popular power and governability.
Mass organization and continental leadership
Rodríguez assured that there is no other party on the American continent with the organizational capacity of the Psuv.
“We are the only political organization in America capable of developing a higher level of popular mass organization and organized cadres throughout the national territory,” he expressed.
The leader highlighted that the CBBI represent a grassroots architecture that articulates community leadership, direct participation and territorial planning, in line with the Seven Transformations promoted by President Nicolás Maduro.
CBBI and citizen participation
The Popular Assemblies for the election of the CBBI were held in more than 145,000 streets and communities in the countrywith a participation of more than three million citizens, according to official figures.
Each committee is made up of spokespersons in areas such as health, education, public services, communal economy and culture, and are integrated into the system of popular self-government.
The process is part of a strategy to strengthen the organizational fabric of the PSUV, which seeks to consolidate base structures for political action, territorial defense and the execution of public policies from the communities.
