Officials from the Municipal Police of Sucre, in the state of Miranda, arrested a 28-year-old man for the alleged commission of the crime of sexual abuse against his seven-year-old stepdaughter.
The subject, identified as Yirbert José Pacheco, would have taken the girl and her other two children under the pretext of a walk. Upon returning home, the mother noticed unusual behavior in the minor, who expressed pain in her private parts. After being examined at a health center, signs of sexual abuse with penetration were confirmed.
Upon the mother’s immediate complaint, the officials acted quickly to locate and apprehend the aggressor. In his initial statements, Pacheco admitted his responsibility, trying to justify the act under the influence of alcohol. He has already been brought to justice.
Police urged parents and guardians to maintain constant supervision of minors when they are not under their direct care, encourage open communication about respect for their bodies and be alert to any warning signs.
