The strange case of the 21-year-old girl has caused consternation.

The department of Santander woke up shocked after the discovery of the lifeless body of Briyi Vanesa Amadoa 21-year-old girl who had been reported missing for several days. The body was found in a wooded area in the municipality of Savannah of Torres on the road to the El Diamante village, which leads to the Cabildo Verde, and according to the first reports from the authorities, there were gunshot wounds and signs of torturewhich suggests that it was an act of extreme violence.

According to the information provided by the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office, it was a farmer from the area who alerted the authorities after finding the body in the undergrowth. Relatives of the victim stated that Briyi Vanesa had left her workplace, in a night establishment in the municipal seat of Sabana de Torres, after receiving a text message, and that since then they have not heard from her again.

The young woman, according to those close to her, was a happy, hard-working woman who was very loved in her community, which is why her death has generated deep pain and indignation among the inhabitants of the municipality.
While the investigations progress, departmental authorities called on citizens to provide information that will allow those responsible for the crime to be identified and captured. “We will not rest until we find justice for this young woman and her family,” said a spokesman for the Santander Policewho confirmed that security cameras and testimonies from possible witnesses are being analyzed.
Briyi Vanesa’s body was taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Bucaramanga, where the respective forensic tests will be carried out to determine the exact cause of death and the time he had been dead. Investigators are seeking to establish if there was any relationship between the victim and her attacker.
The crime has revived the debate about gender violence in the country, since so far this year, Santander has recorded several cases of women murdered in similar circumstances. Human rights organizations demanded stronger measures from the State, while asking not to leave this new case unpunished.
