When is the long weekend on November 20, 2025?
According to Article 76 of the Federal Labor Law, during this month there is a holiday to commemorate the Mexican Revolution, which began on November 20. The date assigned by law corresponds to the third Monday of the month.
In 2025, it is November 17. On this date, workers in Mexico will have the right to a day of rest, so it is not mandatory to work. If they have to appear, by law they must receive the normal payment for their activities and an additional double. That is, triple remuneration.
And for the SEP?
Only November 17 will be a day when basic level students and teachers will be able to rest, as established in the LFT. However, there will be more “rest” days for the former.
Friday, November 14 is marked on the calendar for recording grades, a day that most schools grant as a day without classes to focus on this activity.
This situation will be subject to the decisions of each campus. The delivery of grades will be the week of November 24 to 27.
Later, on Friday, November 28, there will also be no classes for preschool, primary and secondary students because it will be a session of the School Technical Council (CTE).
On this day, only school directors and teachers will meet to debate and make decisions to improve school situations and pedagogical strategies.
When are the next official holidays and breaks?
Officially, the LFT establishes the next mandatory rest on December 25, for the Christmas celebrations. This year, it falls on a Thursday.
Meanwhile, students will have vacations from Monday, December 22, to Friday, January 9, 2026. SEP teachers will return earlier, on Wednesday the 7th, and will have intensive workshop sessions.
