Two police officers, who were carrying out surveillance and control tasks in the district of Altamira, Betulia (Southwest Antioquia), They were murdered at noon this Sunday in a criminal attack perpetrated against their patrol. The victims were identified as Wilmer Oviedo Gallego, 39, and Edwin Danilo Chamorro, 32.

Given the seriousness of the crime, the Government of Antioquia immediately announced a millionaire reward of up to $500 million for information that leads to the location and prosecution of those responsible.
For his part, the mayor of this municipality, Néstor Serna, regretted the criminal act and indicated that, after murdering them, their weapons were stolen. Furthermore, he stressed that in that district there is an active presence of the Gulf Clan.
The National Police indicated that it activated all its institutional capabilities, in coordination with civil and military authorities, to advance the investigation and find the perpetrators of this violent act.
The official statement confirmed that the attack area is a strategic point with interference from two illegal armed structures that operate in the subregion such as the Clan del Golfo and a commission from the Front 34 of the FARC dissidents.
