J Balvin and Vélez launch “Ciudad Primavera”: the collection that honors Medellín and Colombia

J Balvin’s creative universe added a new chapter with a collection that exalts Colombia and connects urban culture with art.

Colombia is once again at the center of the global fashion radar, and this time with one of its most powerful names: J Balvin.

The Paisa artist surprised his followers by announcing a collaboration with Vélez, one of the most recognized leather brands in the country, to launch the collection ‘Ciudad Primavera: Beyond Flowers’, a direct tribute to Medellín, his hometown, and to the Latin identity that has always driven him.

The alliance was officially presented on November 7, 2025a day that marked a new chapter for Colombian fashion.

From the first images, it was clear that this was not a simple merchandising line, but a solid aesthetic proposal, carefully constructed between the style of Balvin and the artisanal tradition of Vélez.

With this capsule, both parties seek to bring the essence of Colombia to international markets without losing the authenticity that characterizes them. Intended as a prelude to the artist’s concerts in Medellín and Bogotá, The collection is made up of a series of exclusive pieces ranging from t-shirts and polos to scarves, charms, document holders and a special bag with interchangeable handles.

One of the most striking items is the personalized version of the iconic Mini Garniel, one of Vélez’s star products. Each piece incorporates details inspired by the energy, colors and urban aesthetics who have accompanied Balvin throughout his career.

The name ‘Spring City’ is no coincidence. It makes a direct reference to Medellín, known internationally as the city of eternal spring. But beyond the climate, the concept reflects movement, freshness and a constant rebirth: three elements that both Balvin and Vélez consider it part of their DNA.

For the Colombian brand, this collaboration is a way to elevate local craftsmanship and demonstrate that Latin luxury can compete head-to-head with the big global houses.

What is the proposal based on?

In visual terms, the proposal is loaded with symbolism. The prints make nods to the Paisa urban culture, to the natural landscape of Medellín and the color that always accompanies the artist.

The collection also pays tribute to Medellín Metro, an icon of mobility, pride and transformation for the city, which here becomes a narrative element of identity and connection.

Furthermore, it represents a decisive step for the industry. Firstly, because it links a traditional national brand with one of the most influential Latin artists in the world. Secondly, because it projects Colombia as a benchmark of creativity and craftsmanship in the region. And, thirdly, because it shows that proposals with a local seal can conquer global audiences without giving up their roots.

Since its launch, ‘Ciudad Primavera: Beyond Flowers’ is available in physical stores in Vélez, on its website and at jbalvin.com, with international shipping. With this alliance, J Balvin not only returns to Colombia with music, but with a proposal that reaffirms his commitment to his country, its culture and its people.
