The response of the country’s highest electoral body, denying the possibility of registering it, is based on the fact that the registration of candidates for the presidential ticket is based on the register of members approved by the National Elections Jury (JNE), where Martín Vizcarra is not found. Despite being disqualified, Perú Primero wanted to register Vizcarra as a candidate for the first vice presidency, hoping that the supranational court will accept the precautionary measure they presented and allow him to participate in the general elections, to be held in April 2026.
