San Cristóbal.-Residents of the main neighborhoods of Saint Christopher They described Saturday as a “lump” by the authorities police operation and military that has been carried out since Friday, to combat crime.
Although on Friday, the operation began with a visible police and military presence in neighborhoods such as Las Flores, Jeringa, 5, Highway 6 de Noviembre and Madre Vieja, on Saturday the presence of agents had decreased significantly in those sectors.
“Crime is strong here. The police pass by and, the moment they have passed, the criminals rob you,” declared Pedro Figuereo, who works as a motoconchista around the central park of San Cristóbal, in front of the Regional Police Directorate in the province.

Figuereo described the operation as a blunder and assured that, instead of maintaining a presence in the neighborhoods and arresting the identified criminals, the police and military agents stop motoconchistas and make rounds in the neighborhoods and then leave and leave them to their fate.
