The president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Caryslia Rodríguez, recognized the work of judges, prosecutors, defenders and officials in the implementation of a restorative justice system, which “seeks to heal ties, repair damage and offer new opportunities to minors.”
This statement was made during his presentation when participating in the Congress on Drug Use and Juvenile Delinquency: Justice with a Human Face.
For her part, the president of the Criminal Cassation Chamber, Elsa Janeth Gómez, indicated that this congress invites us to reflect on the links between substance consumption, juvenile delinquency and the role of the penal system in protecting the rights of our adolescents.
«We know that behind every young person who fails to comply with the law there is a story that deserves to be heard. For this reason, the criminal system of adolescent responsibility must be a space of restoration, not exclusion,” stated Gómez.
