Civil Protection of the State of Mexico reported that the Mexico-Puebla Highway is closed in both directions, after a pipe loaded with fuel exploded at kilometer 48.
The state agency detailed that the accident took place in the perimeter of Ixtapaluca, so firefighters from this municipality and Chalco are working at the aforementioned point.
Preliminary reports indicate that the accident occurred after the driver of the unit lost control of the vehicle.
However, Mexican emergency teams are still working at the scene until they have everything under control; They reported that the vehicle could have run out of brakes, which is why it ended up overturning on the asphalt.
Due to the sensitivity of the matter, fire personnel have asked motorists to be patient or look for alternative routes to avoid further setbacks.
It is unknown if there are people injured or lives to mourn as a result of this event.
