The study “Reimagining education in the era of emerging technologies”, carried out by the Business Action for Education (Educa), revealed the slow process of the use of new technologies in the classrooms, by teachers, when using artificial intelligence as a pedagogical complement.
It specifies that 91.4% of teachers do not use artificial intelligence (AI) in their teaching work and that only 9.6% use it only to search for research content.
This was explained by the executive director of Educa, Yohaira Sosa, adding that to this is added the lack of teaching resources, technological supports and adaptation of classrooms for new forms of teaching, limiting teacher training and the need to adapt evaluation systems, making the effective implementation of interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches difficult.
Understands that integrating AI and technologies implies a cultural change that must involve the educational community, including families, because the use of technology as a tool improves reading, writing, teacher training, personalized program development, adaptive evaluation and decision making.
He urged educators to use it as a teaching object that reflects presence in social settings, instead of limiting its use and being seen as an ally to develop imagination, critical thinking and active participation in classrooms.
