The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Saturday that the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committees (CBBI) will assume the defense of the Homeland as part of a new organizational stage in the national territory.
Through his official channel on the Telegram network, the president called on the Venezuelan people to participate in community assemblies to elect the members of these structures, which will be present in the 264 thousand streets of the country.

Maduro explained that the committees will take the oath and commitment to develop Bolivarian values, community leadership and comprehensive preparation for national defense.
“This collective team structure will take the oath and commitment to develop the values, leadership and preparation for the defense of the Homeland. I invite you to participate!” he expressed.
The president explained that the proposal contemplates the immediate formation of committees in each street of the country, which would imply the mobilization of more than 2 million 500 thousand people in functions of organization, leadership and territorial militancy.
Recognition of bases and organizational units
During his message, Maduro thanked the work of the street leaders, community leaders and the Hugo Chávez Battle Units (UBCH), for their role in consolidating the organizational model.
“We would be talking about 2 million 500 thousand men and women at the bases, militating, organizing, leading our people in the depths of the national being,” he stated.
The announcement is part of the process of strengthening popular and community structures, in the midst of a regional context marked by geopolitical tensions and defensive exercises.
