Cabello: we have seized 64 tons of drugs without murdering anyone

The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that Venezuela’s security agencies have managed to seize, so far this year, some 64 tons of drugs without having to resort to bombings and much less murdering any person.

He made this statement this Friday during his participation in the Congress on Drug Use and Juvenile Crime organized by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), where he offered an assessment of the fight against drug trafficking.

“This is a task that is obviously not only the responsibility of the national government, but is the responsibility of everyone,” he said, referring to the work that the officials of the different security forces have been carrying out and the support received by the People’s Power.

“They know that here, through Venezuela, they will not pass and they have given forceful action to drug trafficking,” he reiterated.

In his speech, he explained that these seizures represent almost half of the shipments reported in international reports. He stressed that in the Venezuelan nation drugs are fought at the root, “not in an occasional or temporary manner to cover up other things.”

Cabello questioned the lack of military deployment on the routes where 87% of the drugs on the continent are trafficked while the focus is on other areas.

It should be noted that the US Secretary of War, Pete Hegsethreported that on Thursday they carried out another attack against alleged drug boats, claiming the lives of three people.

1,253 kilos of super marijuana seized this Friday

As part of this constant work, Minister Cabello reported the seizure of 1,253 kilos of super marijuana in an operation that took place in the state of Lara.

“It is not just any marijuana, it is a terrible thing that the DEA has invented in its laboratories that is called super marijuana (…) without including those 1,253 kilos captured today and the thirty-odd kilos of cocaine that they captured yesterday, 63,200 kg have been seized, that is, more than 50% of the drug that, in theory, according to UN calculations, should pass through Venezuela.”

He ratified that, following the guidelines of President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela remains on track to reach a zero percentage of internal drug trafficking.

Promote transformation of values for adolescents

The Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace also focused his presentation on prevention to avoid the inclusion of children and adolescents in criminal activities, promoting a Criminal System of Adolescent Responsibility focused on training in values and the transformation of young people.

In his participation, the sector vice president of Justice and Peace also reported that he has given the order to the heads of the police forces to carry out visits to educational centers in order to ensure that unscrupulous people do not sell drugs to students.

He asked everyone who has a family member with drug addiction problems to help them get out of that world. “It is very painful for us to know that a young man ends up committing suicide due to drug debts.”

Strengthening the justice system

He highlighted that the Venezuelan justice system has changed for the better. “If someone is captured for drug trafficking, they are detained and tried, there is no possibility of them being free,” he said.

He recalled that before in Venezuela there were judicial tribes, but now “that is over.” “Here the laws are not proposed by a law firm, here the laws are proposed by the people and approved in the National Assembly.”

Likewise, he congratulated the TSJ for the work that its workers are doing to go out into the streets to solve problems that people in the same community may have.

«I have seen them more than once going into the neighborhoods, serving people, showing their face. That did not happen here before, it is a judicial system that is closer to the people,” he highlighted.
