Minister of Tourism begins work in Las Galeras

The tourism minister, David Colladogave this Sunday the first palazo to start the construction work of the sanitary sewage system in the tourist community The Galleysfrom Samana. The project has an investment of around 53 million pesos.

The work, which covers 1.7 kilometers and includes the necessary components for the collection and transport of wastewater from the municipality, is made up of a main collector, a service line, household connections and the first phase of the impulse linesays a press release from the institution.

Minister Collado highlighted the importance of the work to The Galleys, municipality that he defined as a magical tourist destination, blessed by nature.

The work, carried out by the Ministry of Tourismthrough the Infrastructure Execution Committee in Tourist Zones (CEIZTUR), is an old claim of the community of The Galleyssince due to its population growth it requires optimizing and adapting the wastewater management system and leaving the necessary provisions for later adaptations, according to the expansion needs of the communities.

“This intervention, which will cost RD$52,957,881.43is prior to the beautification works of the main access road of The Galleysa project that has already been contracted by CEIZTUR, pending completion of the health forecasts to start the reconstruction of the road”, the document refers.

At the official act, led by the tourism ministerattended by the main municipal and provincial authorities, including the senator of the province Samana, Pedro Catrain; Theodora Mull, Governor; Cecilio Garcia, mayor of The Galleys; Brigadier General Minoru Matsunaga, Director of the Tourist Police (Politur); among other authorities and personalities linked to the tourism sector.
