Coronavirus in Uruguay: 1,020 new cases, five deaths and 72 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Sunday 1,020 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 6,633 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The rate of positivity it was located at 15.38% although duplicate analyzes in some people (PCR and antigens) are also included.

What’s more, there were five deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 47 and 87 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, exactly two years ago, there have been 7,095 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 9,488 active cases across the country and 72 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total number of positive cases that have the disease, 232 correspond to health personnel.

Of the 1,020 new cases, 481 are from Montevideo, 131 from Canelones, 70 from Maldonado, 53 from Cerro Largo, 38 from Colonia, 36 from Durazno, 32 from Florida, 29 from San José, 28 from Paysandú, 23 from Rivera, 19 from from Salto, 18 from Artigas, 17 from Treinta y Tres, 16 from Lavalleja, 10 from Soriano, 8 from Rocha, 6 from Tacuarembo, 3 from Río Negro and 2 from Flores.

All departments report infected people this Sunday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets.
