Despite the announcement, the head of state did not specify in what period this new security plan will be presented, nor whether it will be only for Lima and Callao or at the national level.
As recalled, yesterday Wednesday, the president reported that this Thursday the Council of Ministers will carry out an “update” of the state of emergency in Lima and Callao and will implement complementary measures to those already adopted.
“Tomorrow, in the Council of Ministers, will mean updating the state of emergency with complementary measures to those we already know,” he said.
The president participated in the anniversary of the liberation of ‘checker B’, which was “under the control of mafias”, located in Gamarra, La Victoria, where he was accompanied by the Ministers of the Interior and Production. Mayor La Victoria and the president of the Gamarra Perú association also participated.
In his speech, the head of state called for unity among the population and assured that “this is a breaking point” for the country. “If we do not act now, crime will completely dominate us,” he warned.
Jerí Oré considered that crime feels threatened by the measures adopted by the Executive and pointed out that every action taken by criminals will be responded to.
“Just as they threatened our tranquility, we also threatened them and I know that they are watching us and listening to us. Every movement they make we are going to follow them; every action they make we are going to hit them,” he stated.
