200 Venezuelans deported by the US arrive: five children were separated from their parents

The Ministry of the Interior indicated that the Venezuelan State maintains its “commitment to its citizens abroad” so that they return to the country. Since repatriation flights began in February, following the agreement signed with the United States, more than 16,000 migrants have been deported

On the afternoon of this Friday, November 7, the Venezuelan authorities received a new flight with 200 deported migrants, including five children who, they claim, were separated from their parents during their stay in the United States.

This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace in their social networks. According to their data, on flight number 84 of the Return to the Homeland Mission, 157 men, 29 women and 13 boys and girls were received “after facing various challenges abroad,” including the five who had been separated from their parents in United States territory.

The minors were identified as Enmanuel Caicedo, Mia Rodríguez, Aleska Ramos, Arantza Ramos and Aitana Ortiz.

“The Venezuelan State reaffirms its commitment to its citizens abroad through the Great Mission Return to the Homeland, ensuring that each of them can return home, where they belong,” indicated the ministerial portfolio, which published photos of the meeting of the group of minors with their fathers and mothers.

This is the second flight received in the week. On Wednesday the 5th, 12 women and 154 men were received at the Maiquetía international airport. One of the deportees, identified as Gregorio Bolívar, reported having been physically attacked in the United States for requesting food while he was in a migrant detention center.

Since repatriation flights began in February, following the agreement signed with the United States, more than 16,000 migrants have been deported, according to official figures given by the Nicolás Maduro administration.

These flights have been maintained despite the tensions between the US and Venezuela due to the US deployment in the Caribbean to dismantle, as they have said, maritime drug trafficking. Donald Trump’s government has reported at least a dozen attacks on boats with suspected drugs, in operations where more than 60 people have died.
