Postobón highlighted advances in sustainable transportation, thanks to innovations that reduce emissions and modernize its operation.
Postobón received the ‘EAFIT 2025 Inspirators’ recognition, in the Sustainability and Climate Change category for its sustainable mobility program, an initiative that, according to the organization responsible for the award, promotes the transformation of freight transportation towards more efficient models aligned with the principles of decarbonization.
The award given by the EAFIT University, highlighted actions that contribute to sustainable development and the improvement of social dynamics through innovation.

The announcement was made in Medellín during the fourth edition of the recognition, held within the framework of the 65th anniversary of this academic institution. In total, 157 companies and 181 people were nominated and evaluated by a jury with experience in leadership, social impact and organizational transformation, whose process was accompanied by Ernst & Young to guarantee transparency and technical rigor.
The distinction awarded to Postobón came after its participation alongside other national organizations. The jury of the category, made up of representatives of the business sector and private institutions, highlighted the articulation between technological innovation, operational efficiency and talent management within the company’s sustainable mobility program, in addition to the integration of advanced analytics and logistics digitalization to strengthen transportation processes.
The program “Innovation for Sustainable Mobility”, developed by the company since 2021, it has promoted different lines of action. The initiative contemplates the modernization and electrification of the vehicle fleet, the reduction of emissions, the optimization of fuel use and the creation of projects in conjunction with academic institutions.all under sustainability criteria and science-based goals.
In 2024, the investments of Postobón and its strategic allies exceeded 76,000 million pesos. With these resources, the company increased the efficiency of its fleet, achieved a 92% of vehicles with low or zero emissions technologies and introduced pilots of tractor-trailers with hydrogen systems, which recorded improvements in both performance and reduction of polluting gases.
Among the operational advances, the company also incorporated the first maximum load electric tractor truck in the country. This vehicle, with a range of 120 kilometers, made it possible to avoid the consumption of 2,300 gallons of diesel in its first year of operation, according to the data reported in the document provided.
The program also includes training initiatives and changes in driving habits. During the last year, these actions allowed us to improve 1% fuel consumption performancewhile contributing to reductions of 9.8% in emissions from primary transportation and 5.3% in secondary transportation, compared to 2023 records.
Another notable line is open innovation. Students from various disciplines participated in the development of a prototype of electro-assisted vehicle for last mile distribution, designed to transport up to 500 kilos of cargo, with the aim of exploring new technologies applicable to urban logistics.
