The Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, announced yesterday that they will rehabilitate 76 kilometers of interparcel roads that were damaged after the passage of Storm Melissa in Monte Plata, where they will also pay RD$1,500 per damaged task to small and medium producers.
In Monte Plata, Cruz explained, the storm destroyed three thousand fields of rice and two thousand of bananas but also affected the production of chinolas, pineapples, chili peppers, watermelons, papaya and other mass-planted products.
The producers of the affected areas, indicated Cruz. They will also have the facility of a debt restructuring with the Agricultural Bank and will benefit from the shipment of a well drilling machine.

Limber Cruz explained that the assessment of the indirect damages in the agricultural sector was carried out together with the provincial governor Rafaela Javier Gomera and other local authorities.
