During the day on Tuesday, the Havana native Daumey Elizalde made history by becoming the first Cuban representative with two titles in this editionby winning the 200 and 100 meters of the T-46 category.
“Proud to give the second medal to my country. I have the 400m race left and I have a little more respect for that, but I won’t stop until I achieve it,” Elizalde expressed to the Cuban press present at the event.

In the same category, Harol Lorén and Osbiel Palacios took gold and silver, respectively, in the T-46 long jumpreserved for athletes with motor limitations in the upper limbs.
“I am very happy, proud of what I have achieved in this my first international event,” Lorén declared to Latin Press.
For his part, Osbiel shared his aspiration to follow in the footsteps of great athletics figures: “My dream is to become great like Robiel Yankiel, Omara Durand and Usain Bolt.”
The Youth Parapan American Games bring together nearly a thousand athletes from 27 countries and will run until November 9after having started on October 31.
In the throwing area, the young Lisvania Álvarez, 17 years old, won silver in shot put, an achievement that deeply moved her.
“It is something very important for me because I never thought about getting a medal in my first Parapan American games,” he said.
Asked about the dedication of her success, she added: “To my family and especially to my mother who, although she is not alive, it was thinking of her that I obtained this medal.”
With just four years of sports experience, Lisvania thanked her coaches for the support and assured that she had even higher goals: “For the future I want to get gold.”
