The Senate’s Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) scheduled the hearing for the current Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, for the next 12th, for a new two-year term at the head of the body.
During the first stage of the analysis of Gonet’s reappointment to the position, this Wednesday (5), the nomination’s rapporteur, senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), assessed the performance of the Attorney General of the Republic as “non-partisan and technical”.
After reading the report, a collective view was granted to the senators.

Gonet was appointed by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for a new two-year term as head of the Attorney General’s Office. If approved by the CCJ and the Plenary, he will remain in office until 2027.
