Colombia 4.0 closes in Bogotá with more than 28,000 participants

The Colombia 4.0 event closed in Bogotá after touring 11 cities, with more than 28,000 attendees and new bets on digital talent.

The event called ‘Colombia 4.0’one of the most outstanding meetings in the country in terms of technology, innovation and digital training, It comes to a close in Bogotá after touring 11 cities in the national territory.

During this edition that marks 15 years of history, The Minister of ICT, Carina Murcia, pointed out that more than 28,000 people have participated in the activities.

“We have already benefited 28 thousand people from our Colombia 4.0 event, and today we expect five thousand people here, in this epicenter, which will be Bogotá,” he noted.

In Bogotá, close to 5,000 attendees are expected during the two days of programming at Corferiaswhere representatives from academia, the private sector, entrepreneurs, developers and technology experts will meet.

“Colombia 4.0 is a space to connect ideas, talents and opportunities. Our goal is for technology to be a tool of change for all the territories of the country,” said the minister.

The event reached regions such as Mocoa, Yopal, Villavicencio, Bucaramanga and Boyacáplaces where a version of the meeting had never been held before.

During the event, The Ministry of ICT proposed the creation of the Digital Talent Hub or centeran initiative that seeks to link the Government with private companies and academia to train one million Colombians in technological skills.

This strategy will allow us to strengthen areas such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity and interoperability, keys to national competitiveness.

The courses, which range from basic to advanced levels, are supported by the ILO, SENA and world-class technology companies such as Amazon, Google and Fortinet, which offer industry certifications at no cost to participants.
