The Second Preparatory Investigation Court of Huancayo issued six months of preventive detention against Marco Gonzales (39), investigated for the alleged crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of Kary Méndez (53).

According to the investigations, on the night of October 19, 2025, Gonzales was drinking with his partner, the victim, and a friend in a bar. Then, when moving to another location located in block 5 of the Paseo La Breña jirón, an argument occurred that ended in a fight. The investigated person repeatedly hit Méndez, leaving him unconscious in public. Despite being helped by Huancayo watchmen, the victim arrived lifeless at the Daniel Alcides Carrión hospital.

Deputy provincial prosecutor Jackeline Deana Orihuela Maraví, from the Third Office of the Fourth Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Huancayo, participated in the hearing, who presented as support videos from security cameras, testimonial statements, the autopsy certificate and the arrest report. With this evidence, the court ordered his detention in the Huancayo prison while the investigations last.
