In the middle of the election day for the Senate and the Chamber, two members of the Army died in San Vicente del Caguán, in the midst of combats that take place in the border area with the department of Meta.
The authorities confirmed that the first event occurred after the activation of an explosive device in the village of La Cristalina in the municipality of La Macarena, Meta, a professional soldier died there and another was wounded, where confrontations were registered between the Army and presumed dissidents of the FARC.
A second event occurred after the activation of an explosive device in the village of La Novia Celestial in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, Caquetá, an Army non-commissioned officer died there and a soldier was wounded.

The killed and wounded personnel belong to the Organic Caguán Specific Command of Joint Task Force Omega. In the meantime, the wounded soldiers were transferred to Florence for medical attention at the Medilaser clinic.
On the other hand, in the department there are more than 1,456 soldiers who will make a permanent presence at the voting points, Similarly, the Unified Command Post (PMU) is enabled in the Caquetá Police command, where the main authorities are attentive to public order situations on election day.
The department of Caquetá has 922 voting tables, plus 30 new ones by the Jurisdiction of Peace.
