Atmospheric instability generates heavy rains in southern Venezuela

Inestabilidad atmosférica genera fuertes lluvias al sur de Venezuela

The atmosphere over Venezuela presents instability marked by an anticyclone that interacts with a complex frontal system in the Atlantic, but the flow of humidity is directed to the national territory. In addition, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) remains active over the south of the country, generating heavy and persistent rains in the region.

The information was published on the Telegram channel of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh), where it indicates that atmospheric instability intensifies with the presence of a semi-permanent low pressure (B) to the northwest of northern Colombia, enhances instability in the west of the country, and tropical wave 53 over Central America.

In this way, partially cloudy skies and some clear areas persist in much of the national territory. However, some cloud covers are expected that generate variable rainfall in parts of Amazonas, Bolívar, Delta Amacuro, Sucre, Táchira, Mérida and Zulia.

Likewise, it is estimated that cloudiness will increase and will be accompanied by areas of rain or showers and occasional electrical discharges that will especially affect parts of Guayana Esequiba, Bolívar, Amazonas, Delta Amacuro, Anzoátegui, Monagas, Sucre, Miranda, Falcón, Yaracuy, Los Andes and Zulia.

The authorities urge the population of the areas with the highest rainfall to take the necessary precautions in the face of the intensity of the rains.
