Firefighters and Police are carrying out an extensive operation to find a foreign citizen lost in the eastern hills of Bogotá.
This Sunday, personnel from the Bogotá Fire Department, the Metropolitan Police and other district agencies are carrying out the search for a citizen, apparently an American of Asian origin who got lost on Guadalupe Hill.
According to the Fire Department in its X account, “around 7:19 pm yesterday, November 1, we began the search for a person lost in the surroundings of Cerro de Guadalupe. During the night, the search for the person was carried out with firefighters, canines and gifts, and with overflight support from the Police Falcon.”

The firefighters pointed out that “The operation includes tours along the Arzobispo River, around the Monserrate hill and through the Marraneras sector towards Piedra Amarilla. Likewise, with drone overflights from kilometer 6″.

But this has not been the only case of a person getting lost in the hills of Bogotá. In 2015, the authorities located three people who had gotten lost in the Pico del Águila sector, in waterfall 3, at the back of Monserrate.

According to the authorities at that time, after seven hours of searching, the firefighters lifted the operations and subsequently restarted them around 6:00 in the morning, when the light conditions in the area improved and they were rescued.
