The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, exalted Plan Bolívar 2000 as the starting point of the revolutionary transformation of the Armed Forces, which converted it into the current Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the “United Liberating Army of Venezuela” that today defends national sovereignty.
Likewise, he specified that the articulation generated by the Bolívar Plan 2000 was key and decisive during the Coup d’état of April 11 and 12, 2002 against Commander Hugo Chávez. He recounted the historical feat of April 13, 2002, and highlighted how the civil-military organization, forged in part by the foundations of Plan Bolívar 2000, was activated for the restitution of the constitutional order.
In the midst of the kidnapping of the revolutionary leader and the threat of his assassination, a direct communication network was established between active officers and the people. The people shouted “they kidnapped Chávez, bring Chávez back!” recalled the national leader.
While military officers responded to the call of the people. “Mobilize all the neighbors you can, come to all the military units, we will fight to rescue Chávez!”
This strategic union, created between the people and the military, led to the “miracle of April 13 and 14, the resurrection of Chávez, democracy and the Constitution.”
Fortress of the Republic
Meanwhile, President Maduro stated that the fusion between organized popular power and the FANB constitutes the greatest strength of the Republic. “The level of union, of spiritual fusion, of patriotic fusion that exists between the people with their powerful organizations, with their power, with their leadership, and the FANB with its impetus and structure, is Venezuela’s atomic bomb to defend its right to insist, to live, to peace and development,” he indicated.
The head of state reiterated that in Venezuela “we are the same people”, where each person builds the homeland from their trenches.
