Operational personnel from the Security Cabinet of the federal Government killed 13 alleged criminals in Sinaloa, who tried to surprise the agents who were carrying out patrol work in the community of La Brecha, belonging to the municipality of Guasave.
The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, confirmed this fact and explained that the event took place around 12:45 p.m. this Monday.
He explained, through his social networks, that the criminals were hiding under a bridge when they began shooting at them. However, the security elements reacted immediately and repelled the attack.
Derived from the quick reaction of the security elements, the following was achieved:
- 13 attackers lost their lives
- 4 arrested
- 9 people released who were kidnapped
- 7 vehicles insured
- Long weapons and tactical equipment secured
According to Omar García Harfuch, the entire confiscated arsenal was at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
It is worth remembering that in Sinaloa there have been strong confrontations between criminal groups over the control of drug trafficking.
The violent conflict between these factions of organized crime has caused nearly 1,700 people to be murdered, 57 of them minors, and almost 2,000 missing.
