The strike, which has left thousands of undergraduate and graduate students without classes, is part of a protest that is being replicated throughout the country. The general secretary of the teaching union reported that the union decided to radicalize its measures due to the lack of response from the Government.

The professors denounced that in the 2025 budget a cut of more than 600 million soles was applied to the university sector, which aggravates the deficiencies in infrastructure and research. For this reason, they announced that they will travel to Lima today and tomorrow to join the national mobilizations, although they will continue with protest actions in each region.
In addition, the teachers called an assembly with the Student Federation to report on the reasons for the strike and request their support in finding a solution.
