Since Sunday night hours a electrical interruption partially affects the facilities of the National Cancer Institute Rosa Emilia Sánchez Pérez de Tavares (Incart).
The hospital authorities reported that, from the first moment, the technical team and maintenance works continuously to restore the service in its entirety and guarantee the safety of the patients and the staff.
According to the hospital center, “critical areas such as the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the Oncopediatrics area, continue to operate normally, ensuring the continuous care of the patients more vulnerable. Thanks to the backup systems due to the rapid intervention of the staff, essential medical care has not been interrupted at any time.
When consulted, several patients who had an appointment scheduled for this Monday showed their discontent with the situation ensuring that this represents a extra expense for them. They also complain about the way the situation has been handled with those who attended today.
Regarding this, the hospital specified that the areas affected by the power outage are in the first floor of the hospital, where the external consultationsthe pharmacy, waiting rooms and some administrative offices.
“While the verification work and repair, the hospital has implemented temporary measures to maintain the continuity of services in these areas,” he indicated.
Complaints
Despite this, Mary Figueroarelative of one of the patientssaid that employees would have informed her that in order to be attended to her appointment she had to wait for the electricity to be resolved, but she understands that the attention process had to be carried out manually.
He said that he had been waiting since early in the morning and that he could not return home. so as not to miss the appointment.
He indicated that he had to move from his residence in the municipality of La Victoria paying a high-priced taxi, and that if he left he would have to return the next day.
