The president of the Republic, peter castlefiled a habeas corpus before the Judiciary in order to nullify the decision of the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations of Congress to admit the complaint against him for alleged treason against the country.
According to RPP, the document was presented on March 8 through Eduardo Pachas Palacios, lawyer for the head of state.
In this sense, habeas corpus is directed against the legislators who make up the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, a working group chaired by Rosio Torres (Alliance for Progress).

They declare admissible constitutional complaint
On February 28, the Subcommittee declared constitutional complaint No. 219 admissible against Pedro Castillo for alleged treason due to his statements on access to the sea for Bolivia.
The complaint was filed after the statements of the head of government during an interview he gave to the international chain CNN en Español about a possible referendum to provide Bolivia with access to the sea.
The discussed report was approved after the casting vote of the chairperson of the Subcommittee, Rosio Torres. They were finally 9 in favor against 8 against.
