Thanks to an alliance with SENA, a Canadian company opened a call to recruit Colombian workers to its team.
Every day, hundreds of Colombians look for new ways to generate income, often facing the lack of job opportunities within the country. Faced with this reality, there are many who decide to look abroad in search of alternatives that allow them to improve their quality of life and meet their economic goals.
That is why the National Learning Service (SENA) continues to open paths so that Colombians can legally work abroad.
On this occasion, the entity announced a new alliance with a recognized Canadian company accredited by Immigration Canada, which seeks national technicians and technologists to fill vacancies in the gastronomic sector in the province of Quebec.
The initiative is part of SENA’s international cooperation program, which seeks to connect Colombian talent with foreign companies interested in skilled workers.
Two main profiles are offered in this call: pastry chef and chefboth with a formal contract, benefits and comprehensive support during their stay in Canada.
What are the offers?
The first offer is aimed at pastry, pastry or bakery technicians. Candidates must have with a minimum of two years of experience, ideally in French-style baking.
A notable advantage is that English proficiency is not required, which expands the possibilities of participation. The contract will have a duration of two years with an option to renew, a monthly salary of 2,880 Canadian dollars (approximately 7.9 million Colombian pesos) and payment of overtime.
The company will cover the round trip air ticket, offer support to find accommodation and will provide medical and social insurance throughout the contract.
The second profile available is intended for kitchen technicians or technologists with five years of experience in restaurants, banquets or catering, and intermediate command of the English language.
This contract will be for three years, with a salary of 3,360 Canadian dollars per month (around 9.2 million Colombian pesos).
Benefits include airfare, accommodation, medical and social insurance, meals during the work day, and a shared vehicle for travel.
Both vacancies will be developed in Quebec, under a full day of 40 hours per week and with the possibility of extending the stayin the country based on job performance.
What is the application process like?
Registration is carried out exclusively through the official portal of the SENA Public Employment Agency. Applicants must have their updated resume on the platform, specify in “Occupational interests” the corresponding vacancy and apply with the indicated application number.
The interviews will be virtual, so it is recommended to have a valid passport or to have started the process.
It is worth mentioning that this call is open from October 24, 2025 and may be closed before November 24, if the company receives the required number of applications. Finally, the SENA reiterated that applications will only be valid through its official portal.
