The operation is part of the actions to reinforce security in Veracruz, an entity that in recent years has been identified as a transit and storage area for stolen fuel, known as huachicol, especially in municipalities near Pemex pipelines.
Through a statement, the institutions of the federal Security Cabinet reiterated their commitment to maintaining inter-institutional coordination to combat the theft and illegal trade of hydrocarbons, as well as to strengthen security in the central region of the state.
