He Diagnostic Center for Life (Cedivi)belonging to the Central University of Venezuela (UCV)inaugurated the first Chinese tomograph to be installed in the countryhe Turbotom 3S Plusa fourth-generation device designed to offer high-precision diagnoses with lower radiation doses and shorter examination times.
The inauguration took place last Thursday October 30 with the presence of rector Víctor Rago Albujashe Minister of University Education, Ricardo Sánchezand university authorities, including the president of the UCV Foundation and members of the University Council.
He Dr. Bernardo Méndezpresident of Cedivi, together with Vice President Alfredo Marcano and Antonio Parisa member of Cedivi and the UCV Foundation, highlighted that this advance represents a significant recovery for the center, founded in 2016 with imaging equipment that had become inoperative.
“The previous tomograph stopped working at the beginning of the year and its repair cost more than 160 thousand dollars. With this new equipment, we resume the diagnostic capacity for the university community,” explained Paris, who was also rector of the UCV.
Features of the Cedivi Chinese CT scanner
He Turbotom 3S Plusmade in China (WDM brand, Beijing), integrates artificial intelligence, advanced thermal control and fiber optic communication.
Its features include its liquid metal tubewhich guarantees greater durability; a smart generator that adjusts parameters in real time and improves diagnostic quality. And also a GOS fourth generation detection system (Gadolinium Oxysulfide), capable of reducing radiation dose in pediatric and adult studies. In addition to lowering light dispersion, reducing noise and obtaining greater image clarity.
Furthermore, it incorporates the Tele Eye systema smart camera that automatically positions the patient and improves exam accuracy. Its ability to 64 cuts per rotation It allows three-dimensional reconstructions in seconds, consolidating it as one of the most modern tomographs in the country.
Likewise, Paris noted that, during the event, they agreed to sign with Minister Ricardo Sánchez a agreement between the Ministry of Higher Education and Cedivi to offer diagnostic care to university professors. Also to promote postgraduate academic training in the area of tomography.
