Prosecutor Saab made a street justice day in Petare

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry has served a total of 4,085,508 people through tax offices and the street justice program, in 8 years of his administration.

From the facilities of the San Carlos Barracks, located in the Cathedral parish of the city of Caracas and within the framework of the program The Public Ministry Goes to Your Community, the head of the criminal action explained that under this modality, 107,794 people have been served since 2022 and collected approximately 10,000 criminal complaints.

“It is a record and important figure because (…) a large majority of the cases we deal with here are criminal in nature,” commented the head of the Public Ministry before the media.

Added to this are the figures from The Public Ministry Attends your Complaint in the Parish (carried out monthly), which has provided care to 25,318 people to date, receiving 1,067 complaints that warrant action in court.

Regarding the Public Ministry Visit your Commune, 1,938 people have been assisted so far and a total of 78 complaints have been collected in their deployments.

“I want to praise them (these programs) because they are unique in the country and in the Western Hemisphere. A Public Ministry that is deployed in a plaza, that visits educational centers for preventive care; in communes to directly hear the complaints of our people and thus be able to resolve them,” Saab observed.

In the San Carlos Barracks, 19 complaints were taken

Regarding this Thursday’s event, there was the support of 75 officials; among them nine general directors, 33 line directors, 31 prosecutors from the Caracas Metropolitan Area (AMC); as well as the top prosecutor of the jurisdiction.

The expectation at the end of the afternoon was that the officials of the body that guarantees legality in the country would serve a total of 120 people. Of this amount, 19 complaints were taken that warrant criminal action for cases of injuries, disturbances, animal abuse, invasions, scams, improper access, human rights violations and gender violence.

In turn, 60 orientations were provided, 17 requests for expediting cases and three requests for social assistance were received.
