The journalist’s family issued a statement indicating that, Despite visiting at least six detention centers in Caracas, they have no answers about their location.
They explained that in all the centers they responded that Joan Camargo was not held there.
They also denounced that the news journalist is in a condition of “forced disappearance.” They considered that this situation constitutes a serious violation of human rights and that it demands an immediate response from the authorities.
They demanded that their family member appear and that their physical integrity and fundamental rights be respected.
SNTP data suggest that, if Camargo’s arrest is confirmed, the number of journalists and press workers deprived of liberty in the country would rise to 23.
