The report on minors was developed in the last five months of last year and included an anthropometric study that evaluated height, weight, and waist circumference. 401 children who came to the pediatric clinics were analyzed and it was verified andthe excess weight in most of them.
For the investigation, we worked with the Association of Argentine Consumers with the purpose of providing new data that allow advancing the Frontal Labeling Law that guarantees the right to receive adequate nutritional information.

The information received will also make it possible to generate strategies that improve children’s nutrition and health care. “The study works on the prevention and promotion of pathologies from eating habits with their diagnoses and prevention from rights,” explains the official statement.
The director of the hospital, Hugo Casarsa, stressed that attempts are made to build capacities from health and law to make important changes in the behavior of all people and, in this way, avoid the development of illnesses that could be serious, derived from the presence of the extra kilos.
The study detailed that 71% of the children analyzed ate cookies or bills more than four times a week, 48% of minors drank sugary drinks and 95% did not meet the minimum fiber requirement.
