The new Port of Outeiro received an expansion of facilities, with the construction of 11 dolphins, the installation of ten metal bridges and the expansion of the pier from 261 meters to 716 meters, with a displacement capacity of 80 thousand tons, double the previous capacity.
Considered strategic for logistics in the Northern Region, the terminal will be aimed at handling solid and liquid bulk and general cargo, meeting the growing demand for exports of ores, grains and derivatives from the food and energy industries.
“The works consolidate the district of Outeiro as a strategic base for logistics in the Northern Region and strengthen the export matrix of the state of Pará”, wrote the president on a social network.
The modernization of the pier also includes updating the berths, paved back area, storage yards and road access system.
The project, completed in just over 6 months after the start of works, was carried out by Companhia Docas do Pará (CDP), in partnership with Itaipu Binacional, with a total investment estimated at R$233 million.
