Santo Domingo.– Emergency agencies carried out a search operation in the Ozama River this Friday afternoon, after a woman allegedly jumped from the Francisco del Rosario Sánchez Bridge, popularly known as Puente de La 17.
According to witnesses, the woman fell into the river after jumping off the bridge, which prompted the rapid intervention of the Fire Department and Civil Defense brigades. Units deployed boats and rescue teams to try to locate her in the turbulent waters.

After several hours of searching without success, the authorities decided to pause the work due to darkness, with the intention of resuming it in the early hours of this Saturday.
So far, the identity of the woman has not been revealed, nor the circumstances that led to the incident.
Numerous onlookers gathered at the scene, attentively following the operation, while the rescuers continued their efforts.
