Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), scheduled a meeting with the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, for next Monday (3), at 6 pm.
The meeting will be after scheduled meetings with the state governor, Cláudio Castro, and other authoritiesto address the Operation Containmentwhich left more than 120 dead in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
The meeting with Castro is scheduled for 11 am. During the meeting, the governor must present the 18 clarifications requested by the minister about the operation.
Afterwards, the minister will meet with the president of the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Couto de Castro; the Attorney General of Justice, Antonio José Campos Moreira, and representatives of the state Public Defender’s Office.
Alexandre de Moraes is temporary rapporteur of the process known as ADPF das Favelas, an action in which the Court has already determined measures to combat police lethality in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
The minister was chosen to make urgent decisions involving the process, given the absence of a rapporteur for the case. The action was led by former minister Luís Roberto Barroso, who retired.
