Bars and nightclubs expect a 25% increase in sales due to Halloween celebrations in Colombia

Asobares projects a 25% increase in sales during Halloween and more than 5 million Colombians enjoying the celebration

Halloween will be one of the busiest weekends for nightlife in Colombia. Asobares Colombia anticipated a high influx of public, increase in sales and generation of temporary employment in bars, nightclubs and entertainment establishments in the country.

According to the union, This date represents between 12% and 15% of the monthly turnover of the sector and usually increases sales by 25% compared to a regular weekend, with occupancy reaching 100%.

“We hope that more than 5 million Colombians will come out to celebrate this weekend,” said Asobares, noting that they will be served by 1.68 million workers in the sector, reinforced with between 25,000 and 40,000 additional people.

Bogotá would concentrate between 35% and 40% of the movement, followed by Medellín with between 15% and 18%, Cali with between 10% and 12%, and the cities of the Caribbean coast—Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta—with between 12% and 15%. The Coffee Axis would represent between 6% and 8%.

The union highlighted the economic and cultural contribution of the day. “Halloween is consolidated as one of the most important seasons of the year for the sector. Not only the economy and employment are boosted, but also artistic production, thematic decoration and the generation of unique experiences.“said Asobares.

Recommendations

The sector asked attendees to plan their departure and take self-care measures. Recommendations include booking in advance, choosing formal and registered establishments, not driving under the influence of alcohol and using safe transportation. He also called to take care of belongings, attend in groups and respect local schedules and regulations.

“Plan your night. Choose recognized sites and registered with the authorities”said the union, insisting on responsible consumption and respect for safety measures in each city.

Asobares reiterated its willingness to work with the authorities on safe party strategies. “We reiterate our commitment to responsible entertainment, job creation and the economic reactivation of the country”, he stated.

The union asked to articulate local efforts to guarantee a safe environment during the celebrations. “We call on local authorities to support and work together with business owners in safe party strategies.” that we have in the 20 Asobares chapters in the national territory,” he added.
