This Friday, October 31, the authorities received a new deportation flight from the United States. 238 Venezuelan migrants arrived at the Maiquetía international airport, including five boys and four girls.
The Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace indicated, in a publication on social networks, that this is flight number 82 of the Return to the Homeland Mission. Among the migrants deported from Texas are 220 men and 54 women.
Last Wednesday we also received a group of 290 migrantsamong them 239 men, 43 women, one adolescent, five girls and two boys, from the United States.
According to the authorities, since the flights resumed in February, “more than 16 thousand nationals have returned to the country,” while expressing their support for the migrants “who are detained and persecuted in the United States.”
The Ministry reiterated that deportees undergo an interview to review their case, receive medical attention and then are taken to their homes by security agencies. “The Venezuelan Government reiterates its commitment to the protection and well-being of its citizens, facilitating their return and ensuring that they receive the necessary care upon arriving in the country.”
Migrant deportation flights continue despite tensions between the United States Government and the Maduro administration following the US military deployment in the Caribbean to, as they have justified, combat drug trafficking cartels.
