PUERTO SILVER.– A court of this jurisdiction imposed one year of preventive detention as a measure of coercion against two men accused of murdering a young mechanic in front of a spare parts store.
The measure was issued against José Eduardo Estrella Clase (El Pupi)25 years old, and Starlin Alberto Almonte Estrella (Yogi)22, who are accused of being responsible for the violent death of Orbis Tavárez Sánchez (Mello)19 years old.
The judge Romaldy Marcelino Henríquezof the Office of Permanent Attention Judicial Services of the Judicial District of Puerto Plata, ordered that both defendants comply with the measure in the San Felipe Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
The incident occurred last Sunday morning in the 3rd street of the Invi neighborhoodwhen the young Tavárez Sánchez was fatally hit by a shot in the back left part of the head.
According to preliminary investigations, the event occurred in front of the establishment “Pansa Motorcycle Parts”after a heated argument allegedly caused by a illegal motorcycle race carried out on the Cofresí straight.
