SANTO DOMINGO.– He Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday that no cases of cholera have been recorded in the Dominican Republic during epidemiological week number 42, maintaining surveillance in zero notifications of the disease so far this year.
The institution explained that the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (SINAVE) maintains active monitoring on the border and in strategic entry points to the countryas part of the reinforcement of health control measures.
Public Health reminded the population of the importance of continue applying prevention measuresamong them the frequent hand washingthe consumption of treated or purified water and proper food handling.

In 2024 they were confirmed 15 cases of cholerawhich represents a 100% reduction compared to the current 42nd week of 2025.

Leptospirosis: zero new cases / 94 accumulated
Dengue: 1 new case / 240 accumulatedwhich reflects a 81% decrease compared to the previous year, when 1,256 cases were confirmed for this same date
As for the respiratory diseasesthe Directorate of Epidemiology reports the circulation of respiratory syncytial virusas well as adenovirus, influenza B (Victoria lineage) and SARS-CoV-2.
